There is major disruption to trains between Manchester and Sheffield due to a fallen tree.
Trains are currently unable to run from Sheffield towards the Manchester area due to a tree blocking the railway.
The tree is understood to have fallen on the tracks between Sheffield and Stockport, meaning some lines are blocked. Train passengers have been warned that services are likely to be cancelled or delayed by up to 40 minutes.

According to National Rail, the disruption is set to continue until at least 7pm, with customers being advised to use alternative services to get to their destination.
Passengers can travel on Northern services from Sheffield towards Leeds then change at Leeds for the next available Transpennine Express service towards Manchester.
Northern trains are unable to run between Sheffield and Manchester Piccadilly, Leeds and Nottingham and Transpennine Express can't run between Cleethorpes and Manchester Piccadilly.
East Midlands Railway services between Liverpool Lime Street and Nottingham and between Sheffield and London St Pancras have also been affected.
Customers travelling with Northern are advised to divert via Leeds or Huddersfield for alternative trains to Manchester or Sheffield.
Passengers for Sheffield are advised not to board Northern services to Grindleford via the Hope Valley as services are terminating here and onward road transport may not be available. Rail replacement transport has been requested but due to limited availability, is unlikely to be provided.
East Midlands Railway customers can use their ticket at no extra cost on CrossCountry services between Derby and Chesterfield towards Leeds.
Transpennine Express customers can travel on Northern services from Sheffield towards Leeds and change for the next available TPE departure towards Manchester.
