Liverpool have won the 2021/22 FA Cup after beating Chelsea in a dramatic penalty shootout at Wembley. Kostas Tsimikas scored the decisive spot-kick after a dramatic day at Wembley.
Mason Mount and Cesar Azpilicueta both had their spot-kicks saved for the Blues, who once again lost out on penalties to the Reds. This means Chelsea have now lost their last two FA Cup finals - in back-to-back seasons.
Liverpool had the much better of the early exchanges, with Luis Diaz having a couple of opportunities that could have easily been converted into goals. Chelsea did come into it as the half wore on though, with Christian Pulisic and Marcos Alonso going close.

There was a big blow for Liverpool in the first-half, with Mohamed Salah being forced off with what looks like a muscular injury. Liverpool somewhat worsened after Salah was taken off and the two sides went into the half-time break level.
Chelsea started the second half how they ended the first, in the ascendancy. The Blues had three quick-fire opportunities, with one of them seeing Alonso hit the crossbar from a free-kick.
Both teams had chances to win it in normal time, but just like February's Carabao Cup final, the match went to extra-time. Mount and Azpilicueta saw their kicks saved and hit the post, respectively, leaving Liverpool with their second trophy of the season.
Next up for the Blues is a clash against Leicester City in the Premier League on Thursday evening.
