Key striker transfer finally confirmed as Arsenal’s Dusan Vlahovic pursuit ends

Juventus have confirmed they have sealed the signing of Fiorentina forward Dusan Vlahovic.

The Serie A club were thought to be close to capturing the signature of the Serbian international as they attempted to bolster their front line.

He underwent his medical with the Italian giants on Friday, with a switch to the Juventus Stadium being confirmed in the evening.

A club statement read: “Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that it has reached an agreement with the ACF company Fiorentina S.r.l. for the definitive acquisition of the right to sports services of the player Dušan Vlahović for a fee of € 70.0 million, payable in three years, plus the solidarity contribution envisaged by the FIFA regulations and ancillary charges for a total of € 11.6 million.

“In addition, bonuses of up to a maximum of € 10.0 million are envisaged for the achievement of growing sporting goals.

“Juventus has signed a sports performance contract with the same player until 30 June 2026.”

The move sees Arsenal lose out on one of their major January transfer targets, with the Gunners having eyed a move for Vlahovic as they too attempted to add to their forward options.

They were linked with a move for the ex-Fiorentina man throughout the January window but have been beaten to the punch by Juventus.

Mikel Arteta and Edu will now be forced to move onto alternative targets, with the likes of Alexander Isak and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, among others, thought to be on the club's shortlist.

The Gunners will have to move relatively quickly in order to seal an attacking addition, with just three days remaining of the current window.

Elsewhere, they could see their options be reduced even further as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Eddie Nketiah continue to be linked with moves away from the Emirates.
