Katherine Ryan has announced that she is pregnant with her third child, a month after her son Fred celebrated his first birthday.
The 39-year-old comedian shared her happy news on the latest episode of her podcast, Katherine Ryan: Telling Everybody Everything.
Katherine already has two children — on-year-old Fred with her civil partner Bobby Kootstra, 38, and 12-year-old Violet, from a previous relationship.
The comic said that she would not reveal how far into her pregnancy that she is.
On the podcast she said: "You should never tell people your due date. If you never tell them, they can never start hassling you around that time."
Before making her announcement, Katherine discussed her guilt over having a babysitter look after her son Fred as she worked and later treated herself to an at-home facial.
She said: "I've done the unthinkable today. I have a bunch of chores lined up and I asked Miriam (baby sitter) to come in. I said 'can you come in? It's too hot.' And I have booked a facial at one o'clock through Urban Massage."
Katherine later added: "I feel really guilty about it. What's even worse is I'm going to be getting this facial in my kitchen right in front of her face. What kind of Notting Hill parent is like 'you look after my child I'm going to do a bunch of work in the morning then right in front of you I'm going to lay on a table and receive a facial while you clean the kitchen around me'.
"This is not how I was raised. But I just had to do it I'm sorry. I don't feel well..."
The comedian then told her podcast listeners that she was expecting her third child.
She continued: "You guys know I'm pregnant, I've been pregnant for a while and here's how I did that. I got pregnant while breastfeeding the first time I tried and to be honest with you I don't think it's going to work because I'm 39 - I would have been 38 when I got pregnant.
"And I thought 'we've got to get the kids out of the way'. You never know how long you're gonna have and I love my kids.
"I just thought, 'well let's go for it.'"
Katherine then explained how she was breastfeeding her son Fred at the time and said she "knew she wasn't ovulating" because she "didn't have notable dryness" but bled for 8 weeks after giving birth to her son Fred.
"I just felt like I wasn't ovulating," she added.
Katherine went on: "So one day I'm walking around and I feel, you know, damp. And I felt a little more attractive than usual."
The comedian added she felt she was ovulating that month and "had a sense" and "didn't try to get pregnant". Two weeks later Katherine got a period and decided to start tracking her periods.
She said: "I thought, 'well let's wait and see, let's track all the things."
After receiving negative ovulation test results she began noticing she felt "wetter" and decided to try on those days.
While touring Katherine admitted she "forgot about trying" after suffering two pregnancy losses. And said she felt a "sharp pain" which lasted for two to three minutes while on stage, which she said she had felt with her son Fred.
She added: "I thought maybe I'm getting my period. And I didn't expect to get a period this month as I could because these things have to even themselves out after your first period when you're breastfeeding."
"Soon after," Katherine said. "Days later I had a positive pregnancy test."
