It’s the first NFL DC job for Campanile, who most recently was Green Bay’s linebackers coach/running game coordinator. Now he joins Liam Coe in Jacksonville. pic.twitter.com/nG9kwj2P0Z

“Anthony Campanile represents exactly what we want to be as a defensive unit and football team,” said head coach Liam Coen. “He brings an aggressive defensive mindset and a system that is adaptable to our players and allows them to play fast and physical.”
Campanile joined the Packers under then-new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley during the 2024 season. Under Campanile, rookie linebacker Edgerrin Cooper was a two-time NFC Defensive Player of the Week and the NFC’s Rooke of the Month in December.
Third-year linebacker Quay Walker also made significant strides in his first season with Campanile.
Green Bay’s run defense would improve significantly as well with the Packers ranking third in yards per carry allowed during the 2024 season.
At the end of the day, it’s the players who make plays and deserve the credit, but oftentimes behind that sound play is a good position coach leading the charge throughout the week.
Before joining the Packers, Campanile was the Miami Dolphins linebackers coach from 2020-2023, and before that, coached at the college level for a number of years, which includes holding the co-defensive coordinator title at Boston College for one season.
This will be his first stint as a defensive coordinator at the NFL level.
