Jacques O'Neill breaks his silence as Love Island co-star accuses his friend of assault

Jacques O'Neill has broken his silence following his former co-star Remi Lambert making allegations against one of his friends.

He claims Remi's allegations are a "big lie" and claims all he did was "jump in the middle" to stop Remi and his friend fighting.

Remi previously made allegations with a lengthy statement about the altercation outside a nightclub over the weekend

Now, Jacques claims he had "no other option" but to respond to the allegations.

In a statement shared on Instagram he wrote: "I'll adjust Remi's story to the truth now don't worry just what everyone wants to hear.

"We'll start by the big lie following him home can't believe he's even put that but I understand why because it sounds bad and everyone starts thinking straight away no way that happened that's disgusting etc.

"But it was actually 30 yards from the club... I didn't begin to start an argument I wanted answers from him as I got a voice note on Instagram from some lad one night saying he was talking to Remi and he's been telling people that he's going to kick s*** out of me when he sees me.

"So I just wondered if he wanted to or not so I can clarify it wasn't about the Love Island beef at all...

"Saying I can't move on but he's the one that has dragged my name on social media/podcasts since leaving the villa even trying to make diss tracks about me which I just let is all slide because it was quite embarrassing from him...

"Finally just to clear up I was not physically involved in anything that happened only thing I did do was jump in the middle and not let both lads fight...

"Just trying to make it look a lot worse than what is is and try his best to tarnish my name AGAIN that's the real story cheers."

Remi's statement on Instagram on Sunday night read: "Wasn't going to bring this up but this has gone too far now.

"Last night I was assaulted by one of Jacque's friends. Jacques and him followed me on my walk back home from the club and stopped me.

"Then Jacques began to start a argument about the love island beef that was a year ago. Clearly can't move on. Out of nowhere his friend punched me.

"I think it was a setup to get me to react but I'm too mature for this bs."

Remi didn't specify which club the alleged assault took place outside of. He urged his followers: "If anyone saw anything last night message me."

On Saturday - one day before making the allegations against Jacques' friend - Remi shared a picture while walking along a street at night and wrote: "Karma will get you."

Jacques and Remi both clashed during their time in the Love Island villa last year - with Remi claiming a number of their rows didn't appear on the show.

Chatting with fellow dumped star Afia Tonkmore, the Manchester-based model opened up about his brief time on the show in June - including the death threats he received after returning home - and what Love Island viewers didn't get to see during his stay in the Villa.

"There was of lot stuff that wasn't aired - a lot of stuff going on," Remi confesses on YouTube series Reality with Will Njobvu.

"So basically, me and Jacques got into quite a lot of arguments and it just made my experience s**t.

"It ruined it for me.

"People were saying, "It's because he's got a rugby persona' - but you can't treat people like that," he added.

When pressed by Afia about what the clashes were about, Remi explained: "He was just trying to get on to me" before revealing the rugby player would constantly mimic his voice and say things like: "My name's Remi. I'm hard and I'm from Manny."

Remi said he was not the only male in the house that Jacques has been having secret clashes with, but he was alone in standing up for himself.

"It was so jarring but I was the only one to stick up for myself because he would always do that to people and I would just like stick it on him and say 'Shut up!'

"But yeah, we just got into a lot of fights and stuff," he admitted.
