Harry Winks has finally got his Tottenham exit, with a loan move until the end of the season to Sampdoria confirmed. The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away from his childhood club all summer.
Winks was originally linked with Everton, but those rumours then disappeared, and everything went a bit quiet. In the last few weeks, there have been links with a move abroad, and when Sampdoria came up, there were reports suggesting that the midfielder wanted some time to think about his next destination.
football.london reported on Friday that Winks was close to securing a move to the Italian side. Sampdoria dropped into the relegation zone of Serie A after their 4-0 defeat to Salernitana in their third match of the season.

Winks was part of the quartet (involving Sergio Reguilon, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso) that hasn't been part of Antonio Conte's plans all summer, or now the 2022/23 campaign has begun. Both Lo Celso and Ndombele secured their loan moves abroad, and now the Englishman has too.
The 26-year-old has previously expressed his love for his childhood club but that he wants to play regular football, which he wouldn't have been offered by staying at Spurs. The north London side have already made seven signings this summer and seen a number go out the door as Conte looks to solidify the strongest squad possible for the long season ahead.
Winks has made over 200 appearances for the Lilywhites and may have benefitted from a move to a Premier League club. However, his next destination is, in fact, Italy, and there will be hope that if he does return to N17, he has had a successful time away before doing so.
In the official Sampdoria announcement, the statement read, "UC Sampdoria announces that it has acquired, on a temporary basis, with option right from Tottenham Hotspur FC the rights to the sports performances of the footballer Harry Winks (born in Hemel Hempstead, England, on 2 February 1996). The midfielder has signed an economic contract until 30 June 2023."
