Harry Maguire reveals surprise baby news after keeping fiancee's pregnancy secret

Harry Maguire and his fiancée Fern Hawkins have announced the birth of daughter Lillie Saint exactly nine months after England beat Colombia in the World Cup.

The footballer's partner shared a photo of their baby girl Lillie Saint Maguire, who's birthday will have an extra special significance to her parents after the nail-biting penalty shoot-out last summer.

The picture showed proud dad Maguire holding his daughter's tiny hand.

Ferne wrote: "A little project I have been working on for the past 9 months."

It's the first child for the couple, who got engaged in 2018 after seven years of dating.

They kept the pregnancy totally secret until they announce Lillie's birth today.

Leicester City star Maguire popped the question to his longtime partner on a romantic trip to Paris last year, and Fern later confirmed the happy news on Instagram.

She wrote: "On Saturday night, Harry made me the happiest girl in the world & asked me to marry him in the most perfect way."

Like Harry, Fern is also from Sheffield and she has a degree in science and physiotherapy.

During the World Cup last summer, Fern was seen showing off her huge engagement ring as she cheered on her man from the stands in Russia.

The games included the thriller between England an Colombia on July 3rd, which ended with a dramatic penalty shoot-out won by Southgate's side 4-3.

It was the first time England had won a penalty shoot-out in a World Cup tournament.

It sent them through to the next stage, but England missed out on a place in the final in a crushing defeat to Belguim.

Fern was there throughout to cheer on her man throughout the tournament and Maguire hit headlines when he poked fun at a snap of her standing at the sidelines during the Sweden game.

After scoring one of the goals that propelling England to victory, he shared the picture of Fern on Twitter, joking: "Can you ask the neighbours to put the bins out on Monday?

"We're not going home just yet."
