Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus.
The Gunners have been keen to bolster their attacking options in the summer transfer window following the decision to allow Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join Catalan giants Barcelona back in January. Fellow frontman Alexandre Lacazette has also left for former club Lyon, leaving Eddie Nketiah as the only recognised centre-forward in the senior setup.
football.london revealed back in April that Manchester City forward Jesus was one name on the club's shortlist of profiles and technical director Edu had held talks with the player's representatives over the last few months. Now, the north Londoners have officially unveiled the Brazilian international as their fourth signing of the summer - following deals for Marquinhos, Fabio Vieira and Matt Turner.

"Gabriel will wear the number 9 shirt and will join up with the Gunners squad for pre-season training soon," Arsenal said in a statement. The striker has signed a long-term contract with the club in a deal worth £45m, football.london understands.
The 25-year-old enjoyed a solid 2021/22 campaign with City, netting 13 goals and providing a further 12 assists across all competitions, helping Pep Guardiola's side win their fourth Premier League title in just five years. In total, the former Palmeiras frontman scored 95 goals for the Citizens, pitching in with 46 assists across just 14,267 minutes - working out at a direct goal contribution every 101 minutes.
Jesus has previously worked with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta, when the Spaniard was Guardiola's assistant coach at the Etihad Stadium. And the young striker has previously made it no secret of his admiration for Arteta.
Speaking about the Arsenal coach back in 2019, Jesus said: "He's helped a lot of players. When I want to do finishing after training, I tell him and he comes and helps me.
"So he is really fantastic for us. All the players know that — everyone knows that in the club. He is a fantastic guy and fantastic manager."
