It’s not often at this early stage in the pre-draft process we get a two-round mock draft, so when one does pop up, of course we have to break down the Indianapolis Colts’ selections.
Nick Baumgardner and Scott Dochterman of The Athletic, alternated selections in this recent mock draft. Let’s take a look at who the Colts ended up with and what you need to know.
Pick 14: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
The ever-popular Tyler Warren selection for the Colts. It’s incredibly easy to see why so many have him being taken by Indianapolis. This is a position for the Colts that was severely lacking in the passing game, not to mention that adding a well-rounded presence–like Warren–who can impact both the passing and running games adds a layer of unpredictability to an offense.
“A tight end is a great friend to a young quarterback such as Anthony Richardson, and there’s none better this year than Warren (6-6, 261),” wrote Dochterman.
However, it’s worth noting that the always plugged in Daniel Jeremiah had Warren going in the top 10 in his first 2025 NFL mock draft.
Pick 45: Jack Sawyer, Edge, Ohio State
This feels like an extremely good value pick for the Colts. Sawyer was dominant this season, totaling 64 pressures–the fourth-most among edge rushers–and he was also one of PFF’s highest-graded run defenders at his position as well.
This position for the Colts could become a more pressing need if Dayo Odeyingbo heads elsewhere in free agency and if the team were to move on from Samson Ebukam–a potential cut candidate. Last season, the Colts ranked 22nd in pressure rate and 26th in sacks.
