Chelsea have confirmed the signing of 20-year-old striker David Datro Fofana from Molde on a six-and-a-half-year contract with an option for an extra year.
The club announced that there a pre-agreement had been made for the move in December. Fofana is the club's second January signing already after bringing in Benoit Badiashile from Monaco.
Fofana has already been to watch his new club, being seen in the stands at the City Ground during the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on New Year's Day.

Upon his arrival, Fofana's first words were: "Hello dear fans, I’m here, I’ve arrived well and I’m very happy to sign for the club of my dreams. I’ll see you soon on the pitch, cheers!"
Fofana has also been seen training with his new side and is one of a growing group of players to be signed up to long-term deals at Stamford Bridge. He scored 15 goals in 24 matches in Norway in 2022, assisting five times as well before scoring twice in four matches in the UEFA Conference League too.
Speaking earlier in the week Potter was asked about the player and he explained his next steps, saying, "We still need to wait for the clearances and all those formalities. He’s been on a bit of a break so we’ll give him some time to train, to assess him, and then work out the best solution in terms of taking the next step in his career.”
Fofana himself has already impressed Chelsea fans outside of his on-field action in Norway. In a video of the Norwegian forward he was asked who his dream club was and replied quickly, "Chelsea. I don't know why, but I want to play for Chelsea.
"They're a very good team. It's in my heart." Fofana will now have the chance to make his debut as the Blues travel to Manchester City in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.
