Arsenal's Ben White misses England training ahead of World Cup clash vs Wales

Arsenal and England defender Ben White has missed training ahead of the Three Lions' final Group B fixture against Wales on Tuesday, November 29.

White was the only player absent from England's final training session before their crucial match against Wales. Gareth Southgate is expected to rotate his starting lineup after selecting the same team for the win against Iran and draw against the USA.

The Gunners star has been in fine form for his club throughout the start of the 2022/23 season and was rewarded with a call up for the World Cup in Qatar. White may have been in contention for a start against Wales tomorrow but now looks set to miss out after missing training with illness.

White's ability to play at right-back and centre-back makes him a key asset to Southgate's squad at the World Cup. The 25-year-old has adapted to his new role brilliantly under Mikel Arteta, offering quality in attack and defence.

England need to avoid losing 4-0 to Wales in order to secure qualification for the World Cup round of 16 stage. White may have been one of the players in line for a start on Tuesday, November 29 with Southgate expected to rotate his starting squad to give the rest of his squad some vital minutes to stay match fit.

White was the only player to miss the Three Lions' final training session ahead of the match against Wales with both Harry Kane and James Maddison spotted taking part. Kyle Walker and Trent Alexander-Arnold are in contention to start at right-back, whilst Eric Dier and Conor Coady could come in at centre-back.

Mikel Arteta will be pleased that White has not suffered a major injury with the Premier League set to resume in just under a month's time.
