Armed police descended on a street in Salford on Sunday evening amid reports of a shooting. Officers swarmed Concord Place and Douglas Green, beside the River Irwell shortly after 6pm.
A man was rushed to hospital from the scene, but is said to be in a stable condition. Police say they are still conducting enquiries to establish whether or not a firearm was discharged.

There are unconfirmed reports that the incident had been a 'drive by' shooting. No arrests have been made in relation to the incident, but officers remained stationed at the scene with multiple cordons in place.
