Antonio Conte gives Tottenham contract update amid planned Daniel Levy talks

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte says he and the club will find "the best solution" over his future, with the Italian's contract set to expire at the end of the season amid a rough patch of form for his side.

Conte has been in north London for just over a year, and with his contract only running until the end of the season and amid recent messages to the fans, he was asked about his future and whether he could sign a new deal at Spurs.

"You know very well that my contract expires in June," Conte told reporters. "Until that moment, the club has to make the best evaluation.

"I think that everything you need to deserve, and it will be important to see the rest of the season and if we are happy with the improvement we are doing. I think that every situation it's important to deserve.

"From my side, it's important to feel that I deserve a new contract, to sign a new contract with this club. I have to feel this. We will take it with the club and find the best solution.

"But you know, I think when you start a path with a club, the dream is to stay here for many years and try to build something important. I think it's very important the relationship you create with the players, the club and the environment around you.

"Don't forget the ambition. If you're used to winning, it's important to match all these situations. If you're lucky to match all these situations, it's easy for a coach, but in modern football, it's different."

Conte stated that he will be having a meeting with club chairman Daniel Levy and sporting director Fabio Paratici during the break from Premier League action to discuss how the first section of the season has gone and to see where he and his side can improve when the action returns from the World Cup.

"Until now, we haven't spoken," he added. "After the first part of the season, it's right to have a meeting and discuss the positive and negative things and what we can improve.

"For sure, we will speak and have a good evaluation about where we are in the first half of the season. I have seen a lot of positive things, but with injuries and so many games, we have struggled a lot. We have to improve in the future.

"Every time we speak, we always speak together. They are always good conversations. The target is only one, to improve, on and off the pitch and then find the best solution in every moment. Until now, we've worked with only this target to improve and find a good way to bring this club forward."
