Brazil vs Argentina: World Cup qualifier prediction, kick-off time, TV, live stream, team news, h2h and odds

Brazil and Argentina collide in a huge World Cup qualifier tonight.

The Selecao sit outside the four automatic qualification places in the CONMEBOL table ahead of welcoming the reigning world champions to Rio de Janeiro, having lost to Colombia last time out.

Injuries threaten to further derail Brazil's campaign as they find their feet in the post-Tite era, although beating their greatest rivals would go a long way to rebuilding their confidence.

Argentina also lost last week, at home to Uruguay, as they seek one last World Cup ride with Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria and Co.

This fixture is among the biggest international football has to offer yet their last meeting on Brazilian soil, two years ago, was abruptly ended by Covid health officials.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Brazil vs Argentina is scheduled for a 12.30am GMT kick-off in the early hours of Wednesday November 22, 2023.

The match will take place at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro.

Brazil vs Argentina team news

The chief fears for Brazil ahead of this clash have surrounded Vinicius Jr, who is set for a 10-week lay-off after suffering a torn thigh muscle in the defeat to Colombia.

Already shorn of Neymar and Richarlison, head coach Fernando Diniz should have Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus back to lead the line alongside Gabriel Martinelli and Rodrygo.

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez is the main absentee for Argentina.

Lionel Scaloni could recall Di Maria and Lautaro Martinez to his lineup following the defeat to Uruguay.

Brazil vs Argentina prediction

It has been a pretty torrid time for Brazil of late but the vulnerabilities exposed in their rivals last week could provide them with a route to a key World Cup qualification victory.
