Brazil supporters brand Joelinton omission 'a joke' after Newcastle United midfielder ignored

Brazilians have taken to social media to criticise the decision of interim head coach Ramon Menezes after leaving out a number of big-name stars from his squad to face Morocco later this month. The caretaker boss gave nine players their first call-up to the Selecao, but one name that was missing was Newcastle United's Joelinton.

There has been plenty of clamour to see Joelinton join his fellow Brazilian, Bruno Guimaraes, in the national team set-up after a brilliant turn around at St. James' Park. His transformation under Eddie Howe has seen him become one of the Magpies most influential players.

That hasn't gone under the radar in Brazil, with natives questioning why the Newcastle United duo were left out of the squad, despite impressing for the Magpies and reaching a Carabao Cup Final. A number of big-name played have been left out of the squad later this month, including Neymar, Fred and Gabriel Martinelli to name a few.
