Brazil Coach Dorival Confirms Neymar's Key Role In Future

Neymar to play crucial role in Brazil's future despite knee injury.

Brazil coach Dorival has confirmed that Neymar will continue to play a crucial role in the national team's future despite his ongoing recovery from a serious knee injury. The 32-year-old forward suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus in his left knee while on international duty in October.

Initially, there were doubts about Neymar's future involvement with the Selecao, with Dorival previously suggesting that the team needed to adapt to playing without him. However, the coach has now clarified that Neymar remains an integral part of his plans moving forward.

Speaking about Neymar's rehabilitation progress, Dorival emphasized the player's importance, stating, 'Neymar is a very important player and one of the greatest in world football. Our hope is for his full physical recovery so that he can continue contributing to the national team.'

Despite missing the upcoming Copa America in the United States this summer, Neymar's return to full fitness is eagerly anticipated. The forward underwent surgery on his knee in November and has since resumed his recovery process with Al Hilal.

Brazil currently sits in sixth place in the South American World Cup qualifiers, with only two wins and three losses in six games. The team will look to improve its standing when qualifying resumes in September.

Since making his debut for Brazil in 2010, Neymar has amassed an impressive record of 79 goals in 128 international appearances, highlighting his significance to the national team's success.
