Holly Willoughby has been dubbed 'brave' by her followers after she shared a video of her son chopping at her hair. The This Morning host surprised her fans over the summer when she appeared with a new look during her annual, long break from the show.
The 41-year-old was snapped in a field as the sun shone down on her while donning a purple and yellow patterned tea dress with long sleeves and tie-neck detailing as she promoted her range with Marks and Spencer. The change, however, was with Holly's hair as her usual short blonde locks had suddenly grown by a couple of inches.
But after months of keeping her trademark blonde tresses on the long side, it appears Holly has gone for the chop as she returns to screens on This Morning after her Christmas and New Year break.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday evening (January 8) ahead of her first appearance on the ITV daytime show of the year alongside co-host Phillip Schofield, Holly shared her eight-year-old son cutting inches off her locks. The mum-of-three shared the short clip with her millions of followers which showed Chester's little hands using silver hairdressing scissors to chop off the length.
Holly captioned the post to her 8.1million followers: Chester decided it was time...when your 8-year-old gets hold of the scissors". The TV star could be heard saying to Chester in the clip: "Are you ready?" before gasping when he made the first snip before nervously adding: "Make sure it's nice and straight!"
Holly, who also shared eldest son Harry, 13, and daughter Belle, 11, with her TV producer husband Dan Baldwin, was quickly flooded with comments over the post. Model Abbey Clancy, who is married to former footballer Peter Crouch, replied in surprise: "Omg holl !!!!!" This Morning's Dr Zoe replied: " Go Chester #brave ." While Holly's sister, Kelly, also joked: " Yes Chester Scissorhands ."

But others were quick to defend Holly after her post appeared to cause a bit of an outcry. @sharronj16 said: "It’s only the extensions that he’s cutting … good practise @hollywilloughby." @ionaxmc wrote: "Looks like it’s her extension that are being cut … not her own hair..."
@sueduf24 replied: "Seriously are people really this dumb now. Why do you people in the comments think she is letting her son do a full cut . Do you honestly think her hair stylist isn’t standing there to give Holly her new style." @vellusu added: "Some of the comments are so harsh,obviously she’s getting it cut properly and let Chester join in to include him. And for all you know she might be getting it dyed next. Give the girl a break."
