A mum has shared a heartbreaking tribute to her young son after he died surrounded by family following a battle with cancer.
Jayden Lamerton, from Plymouth, was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma - a rare type of brain tumour - in January this year.
The six-year-old, who has "always supported Liverpool", was given up to a year to live.
Sadly, he died yesterday afternoon with his "whole family by his side", fighting "until the very end".
In a heartbreaking post, his mum wrote: "Jayden didn’t give up. He fought as best as he could right till the end and passed away this afternoon in the secret garden with his whole family there right by his side.
"My darling boy you were the most bravest boy I know, nothing stopped you doing what you wanted to do and you really did fight till the very end.
"I will always be forever grateful you never suffered the way you were expected to and we managed to make the most incredible memories with you.
"I will love you always I will forever be honoured to be your mum and I promise you I will live every single day just like you would have wanted.
"I will keep you alive forever in my heart and I will make sure your little sister never forgets you!
"I will always make sure your name is heard and your story is told. Until I see you again my darling boy I love you always. Mummy."
She said that Jayden's condition rapidly deteriorated last week, and an ambulance was called in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
She continued: "Unfortunately there wasn’t anything they could do to help other than make him as comfortable as possible and to help him with oxygen and keep him pain free."
Thousands of tributes have poured in for Jayden, who was described as a "truly inspirational child".
Plymouth Argyle FC tweeted: "We are devastated to hear the tragic news that Jayden Lamerton, our brave and courageous young fan has died.
"Everyone at Plymouth Argyle sends its deepest and heartfelt sympathy to Jayden’s family and friends at this most dreadful time. RIP Jayden."
Goalkeeper Callum Burton also wrote: "I was lucky enough to meet Jayden multiple times and he was truly an inspirational child.
"Thoughts are with Jamie, Quinn and all the family. RIP you legend".
Mary Louise Stone said: "Sorry for your loss. Fly high little man you made some incredible memories that your family and friends will treasure a life time. May you rest easy. Forever six."
And Michelle Davies posted: "So so sad ,and sorry for the loss, of the little boy with the biggest smile, and the determination of a true warrior, rest in peace young Jayden".
Following his diagnosis, Jayden's family started making as many special memories as they could, including meeting his hero, Mohamed Salah.
Jayden met the football player at the end of January, along with the rest of the team, when he visited Anfield for the first time to watch the team play Chelsea.
His aunt Lucy said: "After the game he was taken down to the lockers where he met all of the players for LFC and also Chelsea FC, he met their families and played football with the players' children.
"They were all being lovely and asking Jayden for pictures with him. He was taken down to see their cars also."
The family also launched a GoFundMe to help with travel, petrol and hotel costs, as they took Jayden to appointments while spending time together as a family. The page raised a total of £75,862.
