Brave dad Andrew McGinley 'blown away' after kind bride left flowers on kids' graves

Andrew McGinley has said that he was "blown away" by a newlywed bride's kind gesture of laying flowers on his kids' grave earlier this week.

His beloved kids, Conor, Darragh and Carla, were killed by their mum Deirdre Morley in January 2020 in Newcastle, west Dublin. Ms Morley was subsequently found not guilty of their murders by reason of insanity.

Brave dad Andrew is keeping his children's memories alive by sharing sweet photos and videos of them on his YouTube channel Conor's Clips and Twitter. And on Tuesday, Andrew took to Twitter and wrote: "A newlywed bride left her flowers on Conor, Darragh and Carla’s grave.

"She told Ray (Graves Attendant) that she was flying out to Tenerife on honeymoon this morning. I’m blown away by that gesture and I’d like to thank her."

In an update, Andrew revealed that he has gotten in contact with the kind newlyweds and has wished them well. He said: "Found them. Wishing Laura and Daniel all the best for their future together."

Andrew's social media followers commended the kind bride for the lovely gesture honouring Andrew's sons and daughter. Broadcaster Maia Dunphy commented: "This is lovely. So many people thinking of Conor, Darragh and Carla."

A second person wrote: "Ah Andrew what a beautiful gesture. We all hold Conor, Darragh and Carla in our hearts."

A third added: "Isn’t it so lovely that a total stranger can hold you and your family in their hearts to do such a special thing like that , this warms my heart so much."

On Wednesday, Andrew also shared a sweet photo of his son Darragh who would have been 10 years old. He wrote on Twitter: "Happy Birthday Darragh."

Andrew previously told Dublin Live that he uses creative projects to keep his children's memories alive. He said: "Shortly after the children passed, I began thinking about the last time I held them, the last time I talked to them, the last time I kissed them and I suppose the last promises I made to them that I hadn't got around to keeping

"Conor and Darragh were prolific comic book writers. They had a number of their own unique characters that they wrote about.

"I am hoping to write books based on those characters which will include Conor, Darragh and Carla. Carla wanted a snowman.

"So, in November 2019 there was a flurry of snow and we were able to scrape together a snowman about the size of a pint glass. I am looking forward to throwing myself, for the rest of my days, into keeping their memories alive."
