Brandon Aguilera’s first words after completing Nottingham Forest transfer

New Nottingham Forest man Brandon Aguilera has said it’s a ‘dream come true’ to sign for the club after sealing a switch from Costa Rican side LD Alajuelense.

The 19-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-year contract at the City Ground, but will return to his home country straight away, joining former club Guanacasteca on a six month loan deal. He will join up with the Reds squad after the completion of his loan in January.

Aguilera has three caps for Costa Rica and could represent his country in the World Cup in Qatar this winter. He is tipped as a player for the future for Steve Cooper’s squad.

After being in the stands to watch the weekend friendly against Barnsley, Aguilera completed his move to Forest on Sunday. While he has a little while to wait before playing at the City Ground, the teenager is already looking forward to the moment when he first steps out onto the pitch.

“I would like to thank God for this great opportunity with Nottingham Forest,” he told the club’s official website after completing his move. “It’s a dream come true for me to come over to England and be part of this club, which has such rich traditions and history that’s known around the world.

“The City Ground is a fantastic stadium and I can’t wait to experience it in full voice in the future.”

The attacking midfielder becomes the eighth signing of the summer transfer window following the captures of Taiwo Awoniyi, Neco Williams, Moussa Niakhate, Giulian Biancone, Omar Richards, Wayne Hennessey and Dean Henderson. But it seems Forest’s transfer business is not done yet.

The Reds continue to be linked with a number of players, including Huddersfield duo Lewis O’Brien and Harry Toffolo, and Middlesbrough’s Marcus Tavernier.
