Brandin Podziemski is learning from Steph Curry

Brandin Podziemski wasted no time in making his presence felt on the Golden State Warriors roster. The rookie wing has already earned a spot in the starting lineup and has been impressing his veteran teammates with his professionalism and commitment to developing his game.

During a recent interview on the “Dubs Talk” podcast, Podziemski discussed his first few months in the NBA and how he’s been leaning on Steph Curry in a bid to learn as much as possible from the superstar guard. The rookie noted how he is impressed with Curry’s humility despite all the success he’s tasted throughout his career.

“I do ask (Curry) a lot of stuff, but I do understand that he has a lot on his plate and a lot of other things besides helping the young guys to worry about, so I try to limit (asking questions) as much as I can,” Podziemski said “I try to get out only the good questions. … Nothing has wavered through the success, through some games where he hasn’t played as well. For me, it’s really cool to be around, to see a star, an MVP, the best point guard in the league, have that about himself because, at the end of the day, I want to get to that level. And I want to stay humble like he has.”

Podziemski’s goal is likely to cement his status as a starting-caliber player on Golden State’s rotation. His all-action play style, when linked with his ability to impact the game on both sides of the court, makes him a valuable addition to the roster.

Having a player like Curry to lean on, who can offer expert advice while also leading by example, is a luxury most teams don’t have. As such, it’s clear Podziemski is taking full advantage of the fortunate situation he currently finds himself in.
