One lucky person will win a brand new car worth €50k as part of a south Dublin GAA draw.
The winner of the car draw for Cuala will get a new Peugeot 3008 Hybrid. The draw is part of an an ambitious fundraising plan to revamp Cuala clubhouse on Hyde Road in Dalkey.
Famous names that started playing GAA on the grounds are supporting the fundraising campaign including intercounty players Con O’Callaghan, Jennifer Dunne, Sean Moran and Sinead Wylde. The south Dublin clubhouse has been a staple for GAA fans and players for the last 100 years. However, it now needs to be updated to meet the needs of modern players and fans.

The new complex will include a gym, sports hall, community café, fitness studio, changing rooms, physio treatment rooms and more. It will also be built with a more sustainable future in mind featuring solar panels and advance insulation. No plastic bottles or single use cups will be sold on site with a deposit-return programme with cups and water refill stations being introduced instead.
Tickets for the #HomeforCuala draw priced at €30 for one ticket, €100 for a bundle of 4, or €200 for a bundle of 8 tickets. It is now running until 13 January with tickets available here.
All-Ireland winner O'Callaghan stressed how important the clubhouse was to him while he was growing up. He said: "“A redevelopment of the Cuala clubhouse and a new state of the art facility would establish a home for Cuala players and members, both young and old. I am lucky to be part of both our football and hurling adult teams. The success we have experienced in recent years at every level within the club would have been hard to imagine only a few years ago.
"My 1996 team, managed by Johnny Twomey and Tadhg Murphy, struggled to field 15 players on any given week; to see children in their hundreds at the Academy playing alongside the ‘All Stars’, and the unbelievable numbers we have at every level underage is a huge source of pride for me.
"The culture in Cuala is thriving; however, we lack the adequate facilities to help support our continued success as a club. A new clubhouse and facilities would not only provide a platform for every Cuala player and team to improve in a sporting capacity; it would also act as a base; a home for our club situated at the heart of our community accessible to all Cuala members.”
Cuala Chairman Damian McKeown said: "The car draw is just one of many fantastic elements which make up the #Home4Cuala initiative. The goal is to offer our community and players top class facilities on Hyde Road. Not only has Cuala consistently added value to the community around us, we have also been developed by the passion and commitment of volunteers.
"This is very much a community effort, and the new complex, once ready, will be of benefit to the entire community. I commend our hardworking players taking time out their busy schedules to support the initiative, their dedication to the sport and the club is a testament to the Cuala ethos. We can’t wait for one lucky entrant to drive off in a brand new car when the draw is completed and hope many people enter to help uplift grassroots GAA at a community level.”
