Braehead snow centre closed as liquidators called in

The Snow Factor has announced that it has ceased operations due to “ongoing legal proceedings”.

The company which operates the Braehead-based facility was placed into administration this time last year.

After waiting upon proposals to save the business, which did not come, on 7 November administrators appointed a voluntary liquidator to dispose of the company’s assets and reimburse creditors.

The skiing and snowboarding centre based at XSite is now directing customers with bookings to contact its customer care teams.

“Following ongoing legal proceedings and a subsequent court order, Snow Factor at XSite Braehead will be closed from today until further notice,” read a statement.

“Customers can continue to enjoy everything else that XSite has to offer, including shops, restaurants and leisure, such as Gravity, Odeon, Climbzone, Paradise Island Adventure Golf, TGI Fridays, Five Guys and many more.”

The centre, which claims to have the longest indoor snow slope in the UK, is owned by the Ice Factor Group, which is also in charge of Ice Factor Kinlochleven in the Highlands.
