San Diego State coach Brady Hoke announced Monday that he’s retiring at the end of the season, meaning there already are sox open FBS head coaching jobs in college football coming out of Week 11.
“I am proud of what we accomplished at San Diego State,” Hoke said in a press release. “I am grateful to all the great student-athletes I’ve had the chance to work with, molding them into men, husbands, fathers and pillars in the community. I will always cherish my time leading this program. I’d also like to thank the wonderful staff I’ve worked with and wish them the best in the future.”
Mississippi State, Boise State and Texas A&M are also in the market for new coaches after all three programs fired their coaches in recent days. Northwestern and Michigan State fired their coaches in recent months in connection to off-the-field scandals.

The Aggies fired coach Jimbo Fisher on Sunday morning and shortly afterward the Broncos parted ways with Andy Avalos. Finally, the Bulldogs announced Monday morning that they were firing coach Zach Arnett after less than a year at the helm.
Northwestern fired Pat Fitzgerald in July amid a hazing scandal. Michigan State fired Mel Tucker in September amid a sexual harassment allegation.
