Bradley Walsh left speechless on The Chase as contestant makes Wales I’m a Celebrity dig

The Chase host Bradley Walsh was left speechless after a contestant had a dig at the Wales-based version of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! during tonight's (September 23) episode of the hit ITV quiz show. The moment arose when the hopeful called Angie was faced with the question: 'Which TV show has been won by both a band member and the wife of one of his bandmates?'

The contestant was then faced with a choice of multiple possible answers, including Dancing On Ice, I'm A Celeb and Strictly Come Dancing. Angie then guessed at Dancing On Ice, but the answer turned out to be the Ant and Dec-hosted Australia-set family favourite.

"The answer was Giovanna Fletcher, who's Tom Fletcher's wife, and Dougie Pointer," revealed Walsh, namechecking the two McFly-related contestants who'd previously been victorious - the former during the series' recent pandemic-induced two year stint at Gwrych Castle in Abergele, Conwy.

"Ah you see, I don't include the Welsh one as being I'm a Celeb. It's not real, the one in the castle," replied Angie, leaving the host dumbstruck. Luckily for her then it's been announced that this year's edition is relocating Down Under.

ITV officially confirmed the show's return to Oz last month, with both Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly returning as hosts. The upcoming series, which begins in November, will run over three weeks.

Meanwhile, there have been recent reports that Gwrych Castle may yet play host to a "special spin-off show." Bosses at the castle have said that the venue has an "ongoing relationship" with ITV and suggested "possible projects on the horizon."

A new 'all-star' version of the show is currently also being filmed in South Africa. Set to air in 2023, it will welcome back former - as yet unnamed -campmates from series gone by.
