Bradley Rea is fully focused on his fight on the undercard of Amir Khan's grudge match with Kell Brook - but hopes to enjoy the main event after securing victory.
The Manchester fighter is set to face-off against Craig McCarthy on the undercard of a huge night of boxing on February 19th, as he seeks to extend his 11-0 record against a fellow undefeated fighter.
It represents a huge occasion for Rea, who has followed both Khan and Brook in their careers, who admits it will be a 'surreal' experience.
However, his main focus is on his own battle and shining on the occasion to secure a triumph that would continue the fine progress he's made thus far in his career.
“It’s absolutely massive, these are fighters that I have grown up watching. I’ve seen Khan fight a few times and I always enjoyed watching Brook," he told MEN Sport.
"It’s a bit surreal that I’m involved in that, I’m part of it, I’m on the undercard. I’ve got to pinch myself but I’ve got a job to do at the end of the day, I’m focused, tunnel-vision on me getting the job done.
"Once I’ve had my arm raised that night, maybe I can then enjoy the night and enjoy the main event."
Rea is expecting a close-fought contest between the pair and, like many, has changed his prediction - as he's now backing Brook for victory.
“I’ve been saying Khan but I think I might have had a change of heart recently. It’s a tough one to call and I think it just comes down to who has got what left.
"I think the fact that they are a little bit past it, it might make the fight a bit more entertaining and better to watch, but we’ll see on the night.”
