Braden Fiske details his daily workout routine in preparation for training camp

The Los Angeles Rams have high hopes for rookie defensive tackle Braden Fiske after trading up 13 spots to draft him at No. 39 overall. With Aaron Donald gone, the Rams are looking for someone to step up on the defensive line next to Kobie Turner and Fiske is trying to be that guy.

Training camp will be the perfect time for Fiske to showcase his skills and potentially separate himself as a starter up front. Being the tireless worker that he is, Fiske is putting in work and making sure he’s ready for camp when it starts later this month.

In an interview with Forbes, Fiske detailed his daily routine, going to the Rams’ facility for several hours a day, starting early in the morning.

“I get to the facility about 6:45, seven o’clock,” Fiske said. “That’s when I eat, get ready, do my pre-warm up in the training room to get ready. I get my lift in first. After I lift, I go do my speed work. Right after speed, I hit about 15-to-30 minutes of position where you just sharpen the sword a little bit. Sometimes it goes over from feeling that there’s some things I need to hit. But then usually after that, I hit my recovery. I have things that I work my trainers with — body wise — to get better. I try to keep a pretty good balance without being here too long. But also while getting everything I need to get done.”

Fiske told Forbes that he plans to work out with Donald in the next few weeks leading up to training camp, which is awesome to hear. During his career, Donald worked harder than anyone in the league, so he’s the perfect person for Fiske to follow.

Fiske has a golden opportunity to have an early impact as a rookie the way Turner did last year, and if he keeps working out the way he has been, he’ll be set up for success right away.
