Brad Pitt Speaks Out After Woman Loses €830K In AI Love Scam

Bratt Pitt has commented after a 53-year-old French woman made worldwide headlines for sending €830,000 (a whopping $1,384,615 AUD) to a scammer pretending to be the Academy Award-winning actor

In a statement, a spokesperson for the actor (told Variety) that “it’s awful that scammers take advantage of the strong bond between fans and celebrities. This is an important reminder not to respond to unsolicited online messages, especially from actors who are not present on social networks.”

The AI-scam victim, an interior designer called Anne, described her experience on a popular French TV program — Sept à huit — claiming how she had been scammed into believing that she was in a long-distance relationship with Pitt for a year.

The hoax first began in 2023 while Anne was married to a wealthy entrepreneur, and involved being contacted by Pitt’s ‘mother’ who stated that “her son needed someone” like her. (A rule for life: never trust a ‘boy mom’.)

“At first, I thought it was fake, but I didn’t really understand what was happening to me,” Anne told Sept à huit.

The scammers then began messaging Anne as a fake Brad Pitt, who she claimed “knew how to talk to women,” and Anne then soon divorced her rich husband to enter a relationship with the fake-Pitt.

‘Brad’ stated he needed $1M from Anne for a “kidney transplant”, saying that he couldn’t access his own bank accounts due to his divorce proceedings with acclaimed actress Angelina Jolie, flooding her messages with AI-generated images of the actor in hospital.

Anne also revealed that her now-22-year-old daughter attempted to break the truth to her early on and get her to “see reason”.

“Like a fool, I paid…Every time I doubted him, he managed to dissipate my doubts,” said Anne.

“I thought that meant he had taken those selfies just for me.”

The scam came to a crashing halt after Brad Pitt (the real one) officialised his relationship with Ines de Ramon, 26 years his junior, at the Venice Film Festival last November.

Despite the attempts made by the scammers to reassure Anne to keep her interested (including making an AI-generated news report about the pair’s “exclusive relationship”), she ultimately decided to end things and contact the police.

“Why was I chosen to be hurt this way?” Anne questioned.

Despite being on the receiving end of mockery by the hands of the unforgiving internet, Anne says that she is determined to bring the scammers to justice.

“These people deserve hell. We need to find these scammers. I beg you — please help me find them.”

“I just wanted to help someone…and yes, I’ve been scammed. That’s why I came forward, because I’m not the only one in this situation.”

Poor Anne. We can’t help but feel a bit bad for the lovelorn scam-victim, but hopefully her story will teach others to be wary — especially when they’re sent dodgy AI edits of celebrities.
