"Nobody does a Thursday night like the Scousers".
That was what one half of Boyzlife, Keith Duffy, told the crowd as the supergroup brought their ‘Old School Pt.2’ tour to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic last night. The two former boy band members took hundreds of fans on a trip down memory lane as they performed their impressive catalogue of 90s and 00s pop hits.
If the clue isn’t in the name, Boyzlife is a supergroup consisting of former Boyzone and Westlife band members, Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden. So it was no surprise that they opened their set with 'World Of Our Own' and 'Picture Of You' - with the crowd of adoring, predominantly female, fans already on their feet.

Halfway through the night, Keith Duffy told the crowd that the group had previously performed in Liverpool on a Monday and "were shocked to see people on a Monday show p***ed". The two had the crowd in stiches with their Scouse impressions and stories of previous trips to Liverpool.
Later in the show, they paid tribute to Keith Duffy's former Boyzone bandmate, Stephen Gately. Keith told the crowd "we made a pact that whatever show we do, we'll take time to ask the audience and ourselves to keep his memory alive".
A highlight of the night was a mash-up of other iconic boy band hits including Five's 'If Ya Gettin' Down,' NSYNC's 'Bye Bye Bye' and One Direction's 'Beautiful'. Boyzlife also performed a cover of Barry Manilow's 'Mandy,' with Brian McFadden telling the crowd he "hates this song".
Fans were also treated to performances from American-based singer SHAB and band Aliens Don't Ring Doorbells.
SHAB, an Iranian refugee living in America, gave a dazzling performance and shared her inspiring story with the Liverpool crowd. The singer told of her move to America by herself at age 14 and later pursued a career in music.
Boyzlife finished the show with Westlife's cover of Billy Joel's 'Uptown Girl' - a fitting finish to a night of music nostalgia.
