TWO BOYS, aged 12 and 14, have been spoken to by police after a cyclist was allegedly spat on by two motorbike riders on the Fernleigh Track.

A woman was riding her bicycle at Whitebridge just before 5pm on October 23 when she said she saw two motorcycles being ridden dangerously on the path.

She was allegedly spat on when she asked the riders to leave the track and they then fled.

The same motorbike riders were seen "harassing" a group of women and one man, also on bicycles, a short time later, police said.

The incident was reported to Lake Macquarie police the next day and an investigation was immediately launched.

Extensive inquiries led police to raid a Whitebridge home on Friday, October 25, where they seized two motorbikes and riding equipment for forensic investigation.

Further investigations led police to speak to two boys, aged 12 and 14, at a Whitebridge home the next day.

Police said both boys were dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.

Inquiries into other motorbike offences along the Fernleigh Track and in the wider Lake Macquarie area are ongoing.

Anyone with information or footage should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
