A 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment after a firework was set alight in the garden of a house on Merseyside.
The youngster suffered injuries to his head and body after the firework exploded at around 2.45pm at a house in Pennard Avenue, Huyton.
The boy was taken to hospital by ambulance while a person who fainted at the scene was treated by paramedics. Officers from Merseyside Police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue (MFRS) are currently investigating the circumstances into the incident.
Chief Inspector Gary O’Rourke said: “Enquiries are in the very early stages to establish the circumstances into how the 12-year-old boy was injured by a firework. A full enquiry by Merseyside Police and MFRS is taking place to establish the facts.”
