Boy rushed to hospital with facial injuries after Tallaght pellet gun attack

A boy was rushed to hospital after he was the victim of a pellet gun attack in Tallaght this evening.

Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene of the crime outside the local newsagents on Bawnlea Avenue in Jobstown just after 5pm, as rumours swirled on social media of a more serious incident.

Thankfully, those rumours were wide of the mark, and the victim, believed to be in his mid-teens, only suffered minor facial injuries in the attack.

He has been brought to Crumlin Children's Hospital for further treatment.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardai are investigating an incident at a shop in Tallaght, Dublin 24, this evening, Tuesday 25th January 2022.

"A male juvenile teen received facial injuries not believed to be life threatening at this time and has been taken to Crumlin Hospital.

"Investigation is ongoing."
