Boy 'knocked off' e-scooter during hit and run on Rise Park zebra crossing

A 15-year-old boy was reportedly knocked off an electric scooter in a hit-and-run in Nottingham. The boy was said to have been hit whilst on a zebra crossing outside Nisa Local in Bestwood Park Drive West, Rise Park, at around 6pm on February 19, Nottinghamshire Police said in an appeal.

A silver or grey car is alleged to have hit the scooter before then driving away. The boy escaped without serious injury, but suffered a minor head injury and cuts to his leg and hip.

Investigator Charlotte Read, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are currently investigating an alleged hit and run incident, which reportedly saw a teenager knocked off their electric scooter. Thankfully, the boy wasn’t seriously injured during this incident.

“In order to assist us with our inquiries, we’d ask that anyone who has any CCTV, dash-cam, or other footage from this area at around 6pm, gets in touch with us immediately. Anyone with any further information can also contact us on 101, quoting crime number 603 of 19 February 2022.”
