Boy George shares exactly how he celebrated ITV I'm A Celebrity exit as he responds to 'negativity'

Boy George has wasted no time in getting back to those home comforts as he shared how he celebrated leaving the jungle on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here. The Culture Club star was announced by hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly as the fourth campmate to receive the fewest votes and therefore had to say his goodbyes in camp during Tuesday's episode (November 22).

After saying farewell to his fellow campmates, Boy George headed over the bridge for his exit chat with the hosts where he said: "I am sort of ready, I’ve had an amazing time, I’ve done a lot of things I never thought I’d do."

He added: “I had to forget who I was for the whole time I was in here, I had to let it go. It was quite interesting to get over it. To just go ‘I’m in the jungle, I have no control’. I’m so looking forward to getting back in control. It wasn’t easy at all but after a while you kind of just float into it."

When asked by Ant and Dec why he went in, he said: "Part insanity and just the experience. For me it is not something I would choose to do. It was much tougher than I thought. It makes you really appreciate what you have in life." He later admitted he had wanted to leave few times during his time on the ITV reality show, saying: "I did have times when I dipped and I wanted to leave. But singing and music is the best medicine."

Reflecting on his campmate and former health secretary Matt Hancock, who the 80s icon admitted to 'hating on' while in the jungle, Boy George said: "Having Matt in here was really challenging for a lot of reasons…" But he did turn things around by pausing to say: "By the way, he’s just a person. In here he’s just a person, he mucked in, he was really really doing a lot to help everyone, so I can’t judge him on that."

After making his way out of the ITV studio under a cloud of confetti to meet his loved ones, Boy George was soon arriving back at the swanky JW Marriott Resort & Spa on the Gold Coast reportedly to a rapturous round of applause before former jungle mate Scarlette Douglas lead a sing-song.

According to the Mirror, the presenter, 35, began singing Boy George's smash hit Karma Chameleon as he posed for pics and embraced onlookers, including Matt's girlfriend Gina Coladangelo.

Sharing a picture of himself on Twitter, he wrote: "Eating pizza and watching #FIFAWorldCup replay after a lovely long shower. Thanks for all the amazing messages. The love always transcends the negativity.” The also singer said he had “laughed heartily” after reading news stories about his time on the reality show.

He added: "This b***h still gives great headline. I have seen them all and laughed heartily! #ImACelebrityGetMeOutOfHere." And while some were gutted to see him leave the jungle, others were pleased to 'have him back'.
