Boy George's awkward meeting with Matt Hancock's girlfriend after stern exchanges

After Boy George left the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! camp he was whisked back to the lavish hotel to reunite with his former campmates and have some awkward first meetings.

The Culture Club singer was the fourth contestant to be voted off the show, after Charlene White, Scarlette Douglas and Sue Cleaver’s departure.

As Boy George arrived in his chauffeur driven car to the JW Marriott Resort & Spa on the Gold Coast, he met Matt Hancock ’s girlfriend, Gina Coladangelo, for the first time.

The 61-year-old said he was close to quitting when the former Health Secretary arrived in camp, as his mother had been seriously ill at the start of the pandemic and he was unable to visit her in hospital.

Boy George was vocal about his opinions on Mr Hancock’s actions both inside the camp and breaking his own guidelines while he served in government.

Last week the singer said he "can't stand" the "slimy" former Health Secretary in a conversation with Seann Walsh.

In the episode, Boy George told Seann: "Can’t stand Matt. I have tried to like him and I’ve failed. I find him slimy, I find him slippery. I find him just… I made a joke about chocolate. He just looked at me like… I wanted to say, 'What are you looking at? Don’t you look at me like that.'"

However, Gina was all smiles and appeared starstruck as she spoke with the pop icon and everyone gave him a round of applause on his arrival at the hotel.

His former campmates Sue, Scarlette and Charlene also serenaded him with his hit song, Karma Chameleon, before embracing him with big hugs.

Boy George had treated fans to a special rendition of his hit on Tuesday night’s episode, when the campmates visited the famous Jungle Arms pub.

He led the karaoke singalong after the celebrities had all wolfed down pizza and salty chips that they won in a game of beer pong.

The singer wasn’t the only celebrity to pick up the microphone as Babatúndé Aléshé led the campmates in the Candy/ Electric Slide in honour of Scarlette.

Meanwhile, Matt decided to give fans another Queen cover, as he opted to sing I Want to Break Free, which led viewers cringing at his performance.

The Conservative MP famously sang Don’t Stop Me Now at the Tory party conference in 2017 and viewers started to share the old footage on Twitter again.
