Boy George is the highest paid campmate of this year's I'm a Celeb cohort, taking home a whopping fee of £500,000. But along with the big name and price tag, comes an equally large controversy which has generated 12,300,000 articles on Google.
Hey Discount compiled a list of campmate scandals - reviewing search terms for each and analysing the total number of articles on Google. And the Culture Club singer came out on top.
In 2008, he was found guilty for falsely imprisoning a male model who he chained to a wall fixture in his flat. He served four months in prison before being let out for good behaviour.
MP Matt Hancock is also no stranger to a scandal - most likely why he takes the second and third spot. Searching ‘Matt Hancock sacked’ results in 1,780,000 total articles, while ‘Matt Hancock cheating’ generates 561,000 articles.
Both of these terms relate to the whirlwind controversy of last summer, with the infamous leaked video of him breaking social distance rules and kissing his colleague. The MP’s unfaithful romp led to a nationwide outrage and intense pressure calling for the then health secretary to be sacked.
Another of this year’s cohort, former rugby player and son-in-law to Princess Anne, Mike Tindall, also features in the top ten - relating to an incident in 2011. After becoming newly married to Zara, Tindall was seen with a mystery woman in New Zealand during celebrations for the Rugby World Cup.
Leaked CCTV footage of Tindall with the woman led to much speculation at the time. And it appears people are still interested.
Other searches in the top ten were 'Wayne Bridge and John Terry', 'Seann Walsh cheating', 'Wagatha Christie' - relating to Rebekah Vardy who was a contestant in 2017, and 'Chris Eubank car crash'.
