A boy has been arrested in connection with the horrific assault of a teenage girl in Ballyfermot.
Alanna Quinn Idris, 17, and her friend were attacked close to the Civic Offices, Ballyfermot Road on December 30.
Gardai arrested a male juvenile on Wednesday morning as part of investigations into the incident.
He is currently being detained at a Garda Station in West Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Alanna was punched and kicked and hit with a blunt instrument and left with serious injuries.
Her friend was also stabbed while stepping in to defend her.
A garda spokesman said investigations are ongoing.
