An eight-year-old son cried himself to sleep after being removed from the front row of a gig to see one of his favourite bands, his dad has claimed.
Ben Mullins, 29, had taken his son Finley to see the Bad Boy Chiller Crew concert at the O2 Academy in Sheffield, south Yorkshire, after purchasing the £80 tickets as a Christmas present.
Though the boy has since received a special visit from musician Chris Nichols who surprised Finley with a new backpack and football.
The father and son travelled 68 miles from their home in Hull, arriving five hours early so that they could get the best seats in the house on April 26, Yorkshire Live reports.
They managed to get in prime position right by the barriers, and waited with bated breath for the main event while the supporting acts performed.
Dad Ben says his son is a "massive Bad Boy Chiller Crew fan" and had looked forward to attending the show since December, and was having the "time of his life" when security asked him to leave.
Ben raged: "We paid £80 for what I believe were VIP tickets so we could sit in the front. We did a meet and greet with the band which lasted a few seconds. But just before the main show we were asked to move."
He claims they were taken to a first aid room, and then asked to sit at the balcony, but was unhappy because it was packed and his son could not see anything.
The disappointed dad added: "Look, if they had told me before, I would have gone to the balcony early. I came five hours in so that I could get my son the best seat."
On Facebook, Ben claimed Finley was distraught and inconsolable after the show, adding: "He just started crying his eyes out and asked to go home."
He says he took his son out to calm him down, but when he tried to get back inside he was denied entry, sending his son into another "meltdown", and forcing them to drive back home.
And when they got home, Finley cried himself to sleep and was still upset by the next morning, his dad claims.
A row has since erupted about the exact circumstances of what happened that night.
A spokesperson for Bad Boy Chiller Crew declined to comment, while entertainment company Livenation has also been approached for a response.
Yorkshire Live reports that the promoters and security deny that Ben and Finley were treated unfairly, instead stating it was dangerous for an eight-year-old boy to be that close to the stage.
After staff expressed safety concern, they say they moved Ben and Finley to a special access area where they could view the show safely.
Since the ordeal, dad Ben pulled out the ultimate surprise for Finley, who received a special visit from musician Chris Nichols - who collaborated with the Bradford band on their recent single Free which raked in more than four million views on YouTube.
The singer travelled from Bradford to Hull over Bank Holiday weekend and surprised the eight-year-old with a new backpack and a football.
The pair chatted for a while and took photographs together, while dad Ben said he was "buzzing" when he opened the door and saw Chris.
He added: "I didn't tell Finley he was coming, I kept it all a surprise until he came to the door.
"He was so excited. He came from Bradford to see my lad and brought him presents and stuff. It's made his day."
