Boy, 5, rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by car in Glasgow

A boy has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after he was struck by a car in Glasgow.

Cops were alerted after reports of the crash involving a car and the five-year-old pedestrian on Hillend Road in Glasgow at around 3:30pm, Thursday August 12. The boy was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in the city for treatment after the incident.

Police have confirmed that a 51-year-old man was arrested in connection with other road traffic offences, and say enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the crash, reports Glasgow Live.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “At around 3.30pm on Friday, 12 August, 2022, officers received a report of a crash involving a car and five-year-old pedestrian.

“The boy was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment for serious injuries.

“A 51-year-old man was arrested in connection with other road traffic offences and enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances.”
