A young boy that died after collapsing has now been named as Euan McNamara.

The 15-year-old died on Saturday, October 22, after enjoying time with friends and family at Browns restaurant in Liverpool ONE. At around 5.50pm he collapsed with staff and members of the public quickly rushing to tend to him.

Once emergency services arrived from the North West Ambulance Service, police cordoned off the area. Euan, who was a pupil of St Mary's College pupil in Crosby, was later rushed to Royal Liverpool University hospital where he died a short time later, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Merseyside Police stated that they do not believe there was any suspicion surrounding his death and his next of kin are being supported by specialist officers. Tributes have come flooding in for the pupil, with his teachers describing him as a "much-loved member" of the college.

The Principal of St. Mary’s College Mike Kennedy said: "The news of Euan’s death has come as a terrible shock to us all and our thoughts and prayers are with Euan’s family and friends including his sister, Megan, who is a pupil in year 9 at our school.

"Euan was a really lovely boy and a much-loved member of our school with so much to look forward to in his life. To pass away at such a young age is truly tragic, and his sad loss will be felt throughout the whole St. Mary’s community."

Mr Kennedy added that St. Mary’s will offer additional support measures for pupils and staff members affected by Euan’s death.
