A teenage boy was left with serious injuries after being hit by a car near the Metrocentre.
A 15-year-old was injured after colliding with a car on Gibside Way in Gateshead at around 3.20pm on Saturday afternoon. He sustained serious but not life threatening injuries.
Paramedics attended the scene and the boy was taken by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle for treatment.

Police attended the incident and spoke to the driver of the car, who had remained at the scene.
Officers closed the road, which is located between ASDA and Sports Direct, while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) said: "We were called at 3.22 on Saturday afternoon to a person who had been hit by a car on Gibside Way, Gateshead.
"We dispatched a double crewed ambulance and transported a patient to the Royal Victoria Infirmary."
A Northumbria Police spokesperson added: "Shortly after 3.25pm on Saturday, police received a report a pedestrian had been injured in a collision with a car on Gibside Way, Gateshead.
"Emergency services were at the scene and reported a 15-year-old boy had sustained serious but not life threatening injuries following the incident.
"Officers attended and spoke with the driver of the car, who stayed at the scene, and traffic was diverted was the boy was taken to hospital. The road reopened a short time later."
