Boy, 13, arrested after being found with 30 small bags of Class A drugs in Salford

A 13-year-old boy was arrested after being found with a bag of drugs Salford. The teenager was detained by plain clothes officers who were carrying out patrols and saw the boy "acting suspiciously" in the Churchill Park area.

Police say he was found with 30 snap bags containing Class A drugs and was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. An investigation has been launched and he is currently being looked after.

Police were carrying out the patrols as part of a operation Venture where they visit violent hotspots to tackle knife crime. On Facebook the Greater Manchester Salford division said: "Operation Venture officers have been on patrol in Salford this week patrolling in violent hotspots to try and crack down on Knifecrime.

"Our plain clothes officers witnessed a youth acting suspiciously in the Churchill Park area. The youth was later detained and 30 snap bags containing Class A drugs were recovered.

"As a result a 13 year old male was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. The investigation is ongoing & appropriate safeguarding for the male is being provided.

"OP Venture officers are patrolling force wide across Greater Manchester to try and deter and detect violent offences & knife crime!"
