An 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a serious injury after being hit by a car during this morning's rush hour.
It happened on Copplehouse Lane, Fazakerley, at its junction with Alscot Avenue, shortly after 8am today (Monday). The driver stopped at the scene.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "The 11-year-old boy received a serious injury to his leg. A blue Ford Focus Zetec driven by a woman in her 40s stopped at the scene."

Following the collision, the road was blocked in both directions, causing heavy traffic to build up. The scene was cleared by 10am today.
Police appealed for any witnesses to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or 'Merseyside Police Contact Centre' on Facebook, with reference 142 of November 7.
