A young boy has died in a horror quad bike crash near a Scots village in the Highlands.
Emergency services were called to the scene near Durness after the alarm was raised at around 4.20pm on Tuesday.
An 11-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are currently unclear.
His next of kin have been made aware.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a crash involving a quad bike on land near Durness around 4.20pm on Tuesday, 29 November.
“An 11-year-old male youth was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin are aware.
“Enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.”
