Fans have expressed their disgust at Jake Paul 's upcoming against Hasim Rahman Jr being priced at $60 on pay-per-view.
Paul competes in his sixth professional fight against Rahman on August 6 at Madison Square Garden. The YouTube star was scheduled to fight Tommy Fury at the event but the Brit withdrew having been refused access to the US for the press conference and failing to provide reassurance he could make the trip for the fight.
Rahman, the son of a former heavyweight champion, took Fury's spot against Paul as he looks to rebound from the first loss of his career. The fight will cost fans in the US $59.99, the same price as Paul's two previous fights against ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley.
Many fans feel the fight is overpriced and that it should be taking place on a free-to-view channel instead. "I'd rather see that fight on a free online channel 4K HD all free no paying at all," one user wrote. Another accused Paul of being hypocritical by stating he isn't fighting for money, writing: "Jake Paul: 'I don’t care about the money, I just love fighting' then charges $60".
"[He] thinks people are going to spend 60 you know this is exactly why these things get pirated lmfao," a third user wrote. Another said the pay-per-view cost is almost as much as tickets for the fight, writing: "What a rip off f****ng 60 dollars that's basically how much the tickers were."

A fifth user took aim at the level of competition Paul has fought so far during his novice boxing career, adding: "Imagine paying $60 to watch a boxer who got boxing fame from boxing C list content creators and public figures." Rahman is considered the first 'actual boxer' Paul has fought so far, previously beating former YouTubers and former MMA champions such as Woodley and Ben Askren
Paul went back and forth with YouTube rival KSI over the price of his fight against Rahman. The American promised to gift a Twitter user $1000 for reposting a trailer of his upcoming fight, which prompted KSI to slam the price as he wrote: "$60 PPV. I PROMISE you all that my PPV this August 27th will be less than that. "Don’t think we don’t see how desperate this looks. No one cares, so you gotta pay to create hype lmao."
