Boxing fans accuse Floyd Mayweather of missing shots on purpose against Deji

Fans think Floyd Mayweather was purposely pulling his punches against YouTuber Deji in their exhibition fight.

Ring legend Mayweather clowned around with Deji - the brother of fellow YouTube star KSI - for most of the fight before stopping him in the sixth round. The exhibition was in doubt just hours before it was scheduled to take place as Mayweather demanded Deji to wear 10z gloves, but the YouTuber only had 14oz gloves with him. 'Money' also refused to make his ring walk until Jake Paul was removed from the arena.

A clip has surfaced of Mayweather seemingly missing several punches on purpose whilst Deji was backed up against the ropes. "Mayweather is missing the shots on purpose," one social media user wrote before another added: “This is why these stupid exhibition fights are boring."

"Nah he’s taking the p***," a third put, with a fourth stating: "Whole sport is a shambles." Fans then blamed Deji for the farcical fight, but seemingly forgot the YouTuber will never be near the boxing skill of Mayweather. "Why is he just standing there eating his punches," a user wrote of Deji's skills.

"Floyd had a full conversation with Deji’s corner mid round and Deji stood there listening instead of throwing at least throw a big one while Mayweather is not trying… catch him off guard," another user tweeted.

Deji weighed in 20lb heavier than Mayweather, with the boxing legend looking in far better shape despite being 20 years older. "Why doesn't he move out of the way and give himself room? He has 0 footwork. I am disappointed at Deji. He forgot the basics of boxing in the ring. Also disappointed in his shape. He needs to workout more," a final user added.

Mayweather gifted Deji with a belt after their fight, with the YouTuber calling out award-winning singer Justin Bieber for his next contest. 'Money' praised Deji and his brother KSI for their boxing skills, stating: "I couldn't have done this without my dance partner, Deji, he's a tough competitor and I'm proud of you.

"Keep up the great work, your brother KSI, he's a hell of a fighter also. I want him to keep up the great work, you guys together working as a team and as a force, I'm proud of you guys. Go after your dreams, what you believe in, continue to work hard and build. I didn't get to where I got to overnight, it took a lot of time and a great team."
