Bournemouth team news ahead of Manchester United fixture with four potential absences

Bournemouth could be without four key players including exciting winger Marcus Tavernier when they take on Manchester United on Tuesday.

United have been in great form since club football resumed following the World Cup break, winning all three of their matches without conceding a goal. Their two Premier League victories have seen them climb into the top four for the first time since March and a victory over Bournemouth will stretch their advantage over Tottenham to five points.

The Cherries have been going in the opposite direction as they haven't won or scored in any of their matches since the restart and travel to Old Trafford down in 15th place. Gary O'Neil's side are also suffering on the injury front and are set to be without several key players for the match.

Tavernier as well as playmaker David Brooks and goalkeeper Neto are all ruled out of the game. "He won't be available for United," O'Neil began on Tavernier. "He's probably looking at a few more weeks, I would guess. We're not sure exactly. It depends how well he progresses. But yeah, it's looking like a few more weeks.

"Neto's getting closer. He's done some good stuff on the grass. He's been doing some running, some goalkeeping. He hasn't done much kicking yet, he's just started kicking. So, he shouldn't be too far away. Obviously, he's been out for a long time. Once he's back in training, he'll need some work to get up to speed.

"David Brooks is doing well. He missed a few days with the virus like some of the others. We had to pick him up again after that. But his hamstring stuff is going well, he's been moving well on the grass. Hopefully David can come back around the squad soon."

Combative midfielder Philip Billing is also a doubt after he was substituted during the first half of Bournemouth's defeat to Crystal Palace last time out due to a hip problem. O'Neil added: "He had some pain in his hip, so not ideal. But we will see where he is. Hopefully we can get him back out there soon."
