Bounty chocolates will be removed from Celebrations tubs in a Christmas trial.
It comes after a study found 20% of consumers say the coconut treats, tagged “the taste of paradise”, are their least favourite.
The survey of chocolate lovers revealed 18% would feel irritated if they opened a tub to find only Bounty's were left and 58% admitted this would lead to a family argument.
And controversially, 28% confessed they don't believe coconut belongs in a chocolate bar at all.
Customers in select Tesco stores across the UK will be able to exchange Celebrations containers with an exclusive No Bounty version, which will have more of popular Mars, Galaxy and Malteasers.
Emily Owen, Mars Wrigley’s Head of Celebrations Festive Cheer, said: “You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.
"And to Bounty lovers out there, there’s a chance they’ll return.”
The trial rolls out across 40 Tesco Christmas Markets, starting at Baguley Extra in Manchester on Tuesday, November 8.
