Boundless snacks firm secures £650k and appoints Graze co-founder

A Bristol-based healthy snack company has secured a £650,000 investment and appointed one of the co-founders of the Graze brand to its board.

Nuts and seeds retailer Boundless Activated Snacking, which is based in Stokes Croft in the city, said the funds - raised from a mix of angel investors and investment groups - would be used to develop new products and to grow awareness of its brand.

Founded by former commodities trader Cathy Moseley in 2017, the business’ range of products, which are intended to encourage better gut health, have gone on to be listed by national supermarkets such as Morrsisons, high street heavyweights stores such as WH Smith, Holland & Barrett, Selfridges and almost 2,000 independent stores across the UK.

Boundless said the investment came after “a strong start” to the year, with the brand reporting 400% turnover growth.

Serial entrepreneur Ben Jones will also now join the company, as it seeks to boost its aim of becoming “the UK's No.1 gut health snacking brand”.

Mr Jones previously co-founded another healthy snack box venture Graze - which has grown into a global brand and is now owned by Unilever. He also previously founded invested in, and managed businesses such as dog treats brand Tails.com and Skinandme.com.

Ms Moseley said: “It's just the beginning for Boundless, but to have a founder of such a well-known household snacking brand joining the Boundless family shows exactly what we're here to do and just how much we're on to something.”

Mr Jones added: “I believe a healthy gut equals a healthy mind and body and I’m excited to help Boundless in their next stage of growth.”

Boundless also exports its products to 10 international markets including Germany, Belgium and Asia.
